PALO ALTO, CALIF.– March 18, 2014 – Pluribus Networks, the company that brings together compute, network, storage, and virtualization into a single platform, announced today that it has appointed Newtech as its first reseller in Greater China. Within Greater China, the Pluribus products will be available through PN Technology Asia Limited, a subsidiary of Newtech. Newtech is also the first Pluribus partner to offer PartnerCare, where the partner provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for joint customers.
“We are looking forward to working with Newtech as our first partner in Greater China, and we know that their networking and SDN expertise will be crucial in ensuring our joint success in the market,” said Kumar Srikantan, president and CEO of Pluribus Networks. “Our joint customers will be seeing significant savings in capital and operational expenses thanks to our Freedom Architecture and inNetwork services, which are already being deployed in multiple locations around the world.”
“We are delighted to partner with Pluribus Networks, an innovator in the SDN market. We strive to offer cost-effective, highly scalable SDN solutions in the Greater China region,” said Charles Lee, managing director of Newtech. “Providing best-in-class solutions and support is Newtech’s utmost priority to customers, and integrated products such as Pluribus’ server-switch are enabling today’s data centers to take advantage of the latest innovations in hyperconvergence.”
Launched last month in the United States after a very successful Early-Access program, the Pluribus Freedom architecture is a combination of switch, compute, storage and bare-metal hypervisor OS technologies, and has been designed to accelerate the integration of services and applications into the network. The Pluribus offering includes the network hypervisor software, Netvisor® 2.0, and the Pluribus Freedom Server-Switch product line. The Netvisor OS is the industry’s first and only distributed network operating system with hypervisor bare-metal virtualization capabilities of computing resources – CPU, memory, and storage – and merchant silicon switch chips. The Freedom Server-Switch architecture includes a powerful server platform combined with a high-density 10/40 GbE merchant silicon switch and network processor.
Newtech will also be demonstrating the Pluribus Freedom product line and technology at HKICT Expo 2014, April 13-16, in Hong Kong.
